Western Canada – Success Story
[singlepic id=18 w=320 h=240 float=left]Combat Networks/ComIP is pleased to announce that we have successfully completed our role for the Deep Panuke Offshore Project. Engaged by Hinz Automation for the supply, design and installation of two Nortel CS1000E Systems. These two systems will be installed on the offshore platform and at the onshore regional operations centre of the main client SBM.
Our role…
- Respond to technical RFP supplying all Telephony/Convergence information in timely fashion
- Upon successful winning of the bid, work with Hinz Engineering team to first map system in CAD. All systems are mapped out on the PC first, right down to the cabling, ports and punch downs. With Offshore rigs, work is completed in theory first.
- Once completely mapped out and accepted by client we then work with the engineers at Hinz to install the system in a replicated lab. (the challenges for offshore platforms are many, of which working within confined spaces is one)
- Once installed in lab, rigorous testing is performed to simulate communications. (SIP trunks, satellite uplinks, limited bandwidth, etc.)
- Once the testing is complete, the system is broken down and packaged up to send to the Middle East where it is reinstalled on the actual rig for towing back to Canada. this site is approx 200 Km off the shores of Nova Scotia
- Combat Networks Professional Services included Engineering resources, installation and technical resources as well as Sales/Marketing. Special thanks to the engineers/team at Hinz Automation and the other partners which include Nortel, the Satellite providers, equipment distribution and manufacturing.
- Combat/ComIP is proud to be associated with the Oil and Gas Industry. The Calgary and Alberta operations have been very active with many of the Energy Companies providing service and support, now coast to coast.
