5600 series (ERS 5600) currently includes five different models. Two high-performance, ultra-density 96-port 10/100/1000 models — one with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support on all ports — dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet XFP uplinks, and deployable with up to three modular, field-replaceable power supplies for N+1 redundancy and/or full Class 3 PoE power. Two 48-port models providing fully non-blocking performance with dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks, and are available as PoE and non-PoE versions. An all-pluggable model rounds out the portfolio, delivering 24 slots for 100/1000BASE-SFP Transceivers and eight 10GBASE-XFP slots (see to Table 1 for more information).

Ethernet Routing Switch 5632FD

Suitable for data center aggregation or as the core of a small network, the 5632FD offers 32 concurrent network interfaces:

  • 24 ports of 1000BASE-X SFP plus;
  • eight ports of 10GBASE-X XFP connectivity.

As with all 5600 models, the 5632FD features field-replaceable power supplies for enhanced resiliency and full Stack-compatibility with the 5500 models

Ethernet Routing Switch 5650TD

With 48 ports of 10/100/1000, plus two ports of 10GBASE-X XFP connectivity, the 5650TD can be used in a high-performance wiring closet, or as a horizontally stacked, top-of-rack switch in the data center. As with all 5600 models, it features field-replaceable power supplies for enhanced resiliency

Ethernet Routing Switch 5650TD-PWR

The 5650TD-PWR offers 50 concurrent network interfaces: 48 ports of 10/100/1000 with 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet, plus two ports of 10GBASE-X XFP connectivity. It is ideally suited as a high-density option in the high-performance, convergence-centric wiring closet. As with all 5600 models, it features field-replaceable power supplies for enhanced resiliency.

Ethernet Routing Switch 5698TFD

For high-density, high-performance wiring closet functions, the 5698TFD offers 96 ports of 10/100/1000—including six in a combo configuration with 100/1000BASE-X SFP ports and two 10GBASE-X XFP ports. This top-of-the-line switch offers significant advantages in pricing and power consumption. As with all 5600 models, it features field-replaceable power supplies for enhanced resiliency.

5600 ERS Highlights

5600 series features the latest and most advanced implementation of Avaya’s Flexible Advanced Stacking Technology (FAST – Flexible Advanced Stacking Technology 144Gbps/unit – 5600, and 80Gbps/unit – 5500; in a full, pure stack of ERS 5600 models-a stack of eight switches-, the stacking bandwidth is an industry-leading 1.152Tbps),

FAST/5600 also provides 100% stack compatibility with any other 5000 series chassis.

Cost Effective Investment Protection

Being able to mix-and-match models in a hybrid stack from the full ERS 5000 series range enables operators to easily and cost-effectively add to existing ERS 5500 deployments.

The ERS 5600 series delivers highly scalable and flexible Power-over-Ethernet, with high-density and ultra-density models available to simplify deployment in high-intensity Convergence-centric networks
