Releasing Avaya Flare Right the First Time
On another note (talking about UC and Flare), I just happened to be with few Avaya personal over the past few days, and the topic of Flare came up. Sharing our excitement over the launch, I was made aware that Flare was actually to be launched last year. However a decision was made to hold back the release to ensure that the device, its software, and the UC features it provides, could in fact be delivered as advertised to end customers.
I found this update quite interesting, because as we all know within out market there are “marketing” vendors (AKA Cisco) who continue to show case new products and features that can not actually be delivered as advertised. I see this all the time, year over year in our competitive landscape, organizations buying into product hype, only to find future promises of delivery by their vendor.
I am very happy to hear that instead of rushing to market, Avaya waited to launch their new product ensuring it will work – day 1. A much easier promise and commitment to make to your customers.
I myself am looking forward to seeing flare in action as the product comes available, and as we get our hands on it here at Combat Networks, I will be sure to share out thoughts on it here with you.
Thanks,
AD
